EVENLODE | THE SOUND OF WATERS

£20.00

First Edition, signed. Limited to 100 copies. £20 + P&P.

The Sound of Waters is a collection that shows the beauty seen within the River Evenlode, reported as strangled, lifeless, and polluted (which it largely is); to me it has life and breath, rising and falling, flowing gently then fast as it travels from its unremarkable beginnings near Moreton-in-Marsh to the Thames, below Cassington, five miles north west of the centre of Oxford.

I have lived the majority of my life in Oxfordshire on the edge of the Cotswolds. What the county lacks in coastline and mountains we make up for with stunning secluded woodlands and tranquil waterways. Life in the rural countryside is what inspired me to take up photography in 2017. I then spent a number of years travelling to the coast and the mountains to make images and learn the art of landscape photography. 2022 has seen me cease the travel to honey pot locations and seek inspiration on my doorstep. Working in this way has opened me up creatively, trying different styles of image making with the water and the river Evenlode.

Photographing water is extremely fascinating because it is possible to capture beautiful patterns, shapes and reflections that one may not possibly notice by just taking a walk by the river. The work becomes an in depth study and I really enjoy getting lost in the the process. I also really enjoy the challenges of processing and trying to put my own style to the final image. I hope you enjoy this collection of Colour and Mono river images as much as I enjoyed making them.
